*fangirl squeal*A friend and I, went to our first anime convention. We had fun and got to be ourselves, complete nutcases. On our first day, we re-watched Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, in English. There was one part that was completely useless, some scene with Dorothy complaining about how the men of the city weren't men, but worthless lapdogs. Being the person I am, I gasped and whispered about how the people of the city all of a sudden started thinking for themselves. I've concluded it was the movie that had the most 'hmm' situations, I still hate Relina, Wufei's word of the day is always justice, and Noin and Zechs needs to have babies and stop beating around the bush. Somewhere around the time before we arrived at the hotel, we went sightseeing. With one of her friends being our delayed response tour guide we went to the nearby Books-a-Million. We're avid manga readers, I stopped in the manga section, while her and her friend went to the back to look at magazines. In the wall of manga, I found series I didn't know what was licensed: KamiKaze, Orphen, and D.Gray-Man to name a few. Then we hit the Langauge section, and browsed a few books. I picked up some French book and learned some things I didn't learn in school, that book was interesting. She picked up, I'm guessing, a how to speak Australian slang book, it was hilarious. Our tour guide seemed like a deer caught in the headlights and didn't know what to do in the prescence of two overly excited girls in a bookstore. Eventually, we made an attempt to leave, but our first attempt failed and we were in the manga section again. I found some titles that interested us, and gave our tour guide some titles to check out. Finally we left and decided we'll travel back to that bookstore every now and then. Day two, we browsed the dealer's room for some goods, she caught sight of a Bleach phone dangly thingy. I found a Urahara Kisuke plushie, didn't buy it until later. We made our exit from the room and headed to the panel room to get some info on starting on anime club, we were there for what reason? Oh, for information, they had a lot of chairs open, and the guys were funny, why not listen to what they have to say. After that, a couple of voice actors came in, Scott McNiel and Brett something. Can't remember his last name for nothing. Scott is funny, very funny. He kept saying something about ADD, he's a person that says some funny random stuff. Before we left, we watched a Robotech movie... I still say there's more to it, because it had an open ending and ended with me literally asking, is that it. On the third and final day, she took pictures galore~. There were some pretty cool cosplayers that had some talent and patience or a lot of money. For 30 minutes, we watched one episode of The Irresponsible Captian Tylor and witnessed a impromptu battle of the pokemon plushies. Again, for the last time, we went to the dealer's room to browse, we bought stuff and wandered off to the game room. Cloud and Sephiroth can DDR, Goku sucks at Super Smash Bros., and some girl rocked at Guitar Hero. The last thing we enjoyed was the panel of voice actors that compared dubbing in Texas and Vancouver. That was entertaining, don't remember the differences and things they had in common but it was fun! That ended our first three day convention =3. I don't have any pictures, since I was the back up camera provider, I left all of that to the photographer in training, that's going to send me the pictures to archive. Therapy, please.Destressing to: Norikazu Miura - The River and the Sun K. I'm going to make this short and sweet. I don't really like talking to my mom. Everytime she signs on this instant messenger service I got her started on, she logs in and asks questions or try to hold conversations I have no interests in. Her main topics/questions are related to: School, what I'm doing now, and what are my future plans. Now, this is my mom, she's supposed to know what I like and don't like right? Wrong. She knows I don't like being around and/or talking to people, I'm shy, so what? Now, she's constantly bugging me about when I'm going back to school. Yea, my first college experience was a bust, it was boring and I don't like learning stuff I already know over and over again, so I dropped out. Do I want to go back? Yes. Have I been accepted into places I wanted to attend? Yes. What's holding me back? Money and everyone's I-don't-think-this-school-is-right-for-you opinion. I'm the one that's going to school to better myself, why should it be her and every single other family members concern to what school I go to? I mean, I read and examine the schools I want to attend before even putting in an application. Please save me now. FYI, I don't like talking about relationships, shopping, or any other girly things. Why must this be a topic almost every single day with her? I like guys, she thinks I like girls. She also thinks, just because I have one friend that's a girl, that I like her more than a friend. Yea, I really like those assumptions. Most of my friends are guys, only one or two being girls. If a guy's name is mentioned or I'm talking to a guy, she gets nosy and gets this sly smile on her face and asks if I like the guy. Wow! I never knew I had so many boyfriends! Meh, I'd normally rant all this with a friend, but he's gone on vacation, so my blog has to do. Might not be the best way to vent, it gets the job done. Therapy for Cat, please. /endrant Real Life: First EditionDestressing to: Naoshi Mizuta - Bustle of the Capital AKA Whitegate/Al Zahbi song Through the grapevine, I heard my mom broke my brother's PSP. Yes, that nice, sleek, sexy, and shiny expensive piece of gaming handheld. I can only imagine how he's feeling after he saw what she done to his toy Once upon a time, somewhere in the city lived a girl with her brother, mother, and some odd number of dogs. The mother decided she'll ask her husband to come over and fix a gas pipe. Well, he comes over, and the kids are sent outside with the door locked behind them. Fast forward past the drama... He left terrified and his kids are asking themselves what just happened. Anyway, when it was safe to go in, the girl saw that their Playstation was literally cut in half. Cut in half by what, you ask? A rusty old hatchet. There's only two things, that'll make this girl go into a fit: messing with her tech and hurting her pets or other animals. So, she threw a fit against her mother, who teased about it working better that way. Angry, the girl raided her mother's room taking everything that her mother likes and disconnecting her TV from the satellite. While going through her i'll-make-you pay mode, she screamed and demanded that the Playstation gets replaced and/or a PS2 shows up. Lo and behold! A few months later after the PS2 was released, there it was on Christmas Day with the sexy game of it's time, The Bouncer, a memory card, and additional controller. Moral of the story: You break, you replace with something of equal or more value. Jump a few years ahead, instead of dogs we have cats now. One fine summer morning, our always stressed and angry girl woke up to find her laptop had fallen on the floor. Knowing she has cats now, the thought of one them knocking it down was legit, but just didn't fit. As always, her mother was awake before everyone, she told her daughter that she walked it and didn't bother picking it up or just thought she could blame her pets for her misfortune. Enter her daughter's intolerable anger and flashbacks from some years back. Her laptop was still under warranty with a few weeks left. She pleaded with her mom to mail it off, but it was always the same old dance and song: I'll think about it. The girl turned to her dad for answers, he agreed to send it off whenever his daughter was ready, then came the irony, once the girl's mother heard her ex-husband was going to send it off, she gladly sent it off the next day. Moral? There isn't any. Maybe I was wrong for doing the things I did/done, but I'm not going to just sit back and let things just pass over, especially when it's something that belongs to me. Don't touch my stuff, I won't touch your stuff. How hard is that rule to follow? This year is a little different, I no longer live with my mom. She asks if I'm ever going to come back, I respond with my traditional answer "I don't know." My pets are still there and some other personal stuff, if those things are gone, there's no need for me to be there. I'd like to blame someone for holding my back from furthering my education in another state, but I can't blame her 100%. I know she has some money problems, who doesn't? My dad didn't want me to leave period, since I'm his only daughter. That's understandable, he wants me to be safe. My mom on the other hand, just wants to be in my business or always know what I'm doing. Meh, one day. |
