Destressing to: Crossfade - Colors

My little half-assed colored back of Renji PSA hits the nail on the head. Getting it set up was fun, until I forgot I had it set on HTML and it wasn't showing up in the preview. Wonder what else can I do in Photoshop using the splice options... Hmm...

The dark side

Destressing to: Donell Jones - Can't Wait

Um, it doesn't look so bad now, woot! Wasn't liking the colors too much, especially the bright square where text is going to go, think it was F9D6AF before. The darker box might be lightened a little bit, depending on how I feel, more than likely I'll leave it untouched. The spot where the title is, is situtational. It should be pretty much common sense to where and what the navigation/menu is, so it shouldn't be too much of problem. Still irking me about where I have it positioned for some reason, along with the color of the stroked text. Sometimes it works out just fine, this time, it's not that nice, maybe it's too bright or I'm getting paranoid over the color.

Zooming in, we see the banner in all its glory. A lot better than the original right? Not the best pixelated effect, I know,  just found a quick tutorial to see if I'd like it. Doesn't look that bad. The guy, turned his brightness down a bit, his suit isn't so omg-my-eyes-i'm-blind anymore. I like that =3. Next up is transferring it over to Dreamweaver, the torture and pain will commence soon. Woe, is Cat. Woe is she.

Eh?

Destressing to: MSN Radio

Eh, not looking how I wanted it to look. The bedroom is too red and dull, plus I'm not liking the pixelated effect too much. Judging by my laziness, looks like I'll have to re-do the color scheme. Leaning toward reds and yellows, maybe if I can turn down the brightness, it'll be just fine and dandy. I don't know, so far, I feel like tossing it in the reycling bin and just go back to the drawing board. Only time will tell.

Second Crack

Destressing to: Avant - AV

Aside from pretty much our daily/weekly/whenever I feel like putting up with everyone's whining crack, FFXI, I like to idle in Photoshop. Not that good with it, since I virtually forgot about it for about year... I dabble here and there, between making sigs and a few webpage layouts that are eventually carried over to Dreameaver. Sometimes, it can be relaxing or overly stressful that I have to re-log in FF just to take a break.

Anywho! I'm currently working on another layout that I probably won't use or get tired of coding it. Trying for a cream/brown combo with a nice bedroom setting, but with the lighting on my cut-out/render I might need to convert to a "tropical paradise" theme, IE: shades of blue and white, with an ocean view or something. As for the layout itself, I don't know how it will be, I work on colors first then go in to attempt to make it look like my mental image. If that fails, then it's time to work on another project and/or look to another site designs for ideas.

This is my render, it features R&B singer, Avant. Like him for more than his soothing male voice, but that's besides the point. This it probably my best cut, on some edges it looks like I cut a little too much, that's ok. It's just more practice I get with using the pen tool instead of using the lasso tool. He looks a little bright also, slightly better than the original grainy quality though. Might consider turning down the brightness depending on the background that I haven't found yet. The deep brown and text will not be there. It's there for now, because, well, I don't like .gif quality and I'm not familiar with transparent .png.

While I was in school, teacher said this little image was called a "Splash". Basically, it's an image that's clicked on to enter the main site. It's commonly used with pop-up sites, where a 800x600 window pops up and you go from there. This image is how I want it look mostly, it has gradient text as you can see it fades out to blend with the deep brown. "Step into my" has an outer glow at a cone angle, a drop shadow with a ring? angle, and a secondary brown stroke/outline. That's my special/retarded way for saying click me to enter. Where the layout's title will say its title , no, I'm not saying the title just yet.

As far as coding goes, gawd, I'm trying for a blend of CSS and HTML. I'm very much aware that CSS is not my strongest suite, neither is Javascript,  XML or is it XHTML? I forget. Also aiming to understand DIV layers more, they throw me into a tantrum everytime I open Dreamweaver. A newer version of Dreamweaver mind you, where I had to right click to get to the properties. Five good whole minutes, whacking my head on my touchpad over and over. Wow, didn't plan for this entry being that long, maybe Rikku learned something or not. Didn't mean for this to come out as a half-assed tutorial or an educational post. Please forgive me.
